Juarez Missions Video Report
As you know, a team of 25 traveled to Juarez Mexico to be the hands and feet of Jesus to that community. God used us to build a home for a family that was literally homeless; Lucio and David. The conditions were extreme, poverty was all around us, it was very hot and we were thrust out of our comfort zones. You would be so proud of those that went as they represented Christ in an amazing way, we went without taking a shower for the entire time while we were down in Juarez, we all slept in one room, and spent time together 24/7. Certainly the scripture that comes to mind is Acts 2:42-47 and following as we lived with each other, worked with each other, shared scriptures with each other, cried with each other, laughed and prayed together. ate together....tho the conditions were extreme...the team from the NW was full of joy, full of love and sacrifice. Ego's were laid down and needs were met, as team members literally became the hands and feet of Christ. It was God that moved among us! Many have committed to going this next year, the trip is set for July 18-25, 2009...Here is a video to give you a glimpse of what took place...

Juarez Missions Trip
2010 Juarez Mission Trip will be July 24 - 31 2010!
What This Trip is All About...
Casas por Cristo is Spanish for "Houses because of Christ". Casas por Cristo is a non-denominational Christian ministry started in 1993 in El Paso, Texas to address the needs of the poor in Mexico. In Juarez, one of the most prominent problems is the lack of decent and affordable housing with tens of thousands of families in need of homes. A typical applicant for a Casas home is a family of four with a weekly income of $53 who lives in a cardboard and shipping pallet house with a dirt floor.
In July of 2008, we took 25 people down to Juarez Mexico to build our first home for a single father named Lucio and his 11 year old son David. It was a life changing experience and has been the spark plug for many more trips to come. In 2009, we built a home for Alma and Hay'sus, we also visited an orphanage and provided for an orphanage. It was truly an amazing trip. See the 2009 Juarez Trip video report for mor info. In the summer of 2010 we have a dream to take another group of disciples from the Northwest to to build a home for a family in Juarez, we'll serve and provide for an orphange in Juarez, and perhaps begin a vacation bible school. We'll provide many opportunities to serve the families in Juarez, especially the children.
Participants on this trip are adults of all ages both single and married, campus students and teenagers. They are going on this trip for many different reasons. All of them will become ambassadors for Christ as they labor in extreme heat and conditions to construct a home for someone they have never met. They will deepen their faith and learn compassion as they experience life in a third world environment. Children will touch their hearts by simply wanting to play. Everyone who participates in this trip will become the hands and feet of Jesus Christ as they go to serve, not be served.
