Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints. —Philemon 1:7 What a great joy it was to spend time together this weekend getting to know one another and drawing closer to God. We gathered at the beautiful campsite Lutherhaven in Idaho for a few days of relaxation, encouragement, amazing lessons and just a ton of fun. The retreat was filled with laughing, crying, sharing, getting in God's Word and praying with one another.
The theme for this years Women's Retreat was "The Real Me", where we opened up our time with an amazing video, then Jess Sherle and Heidi Townsend gave a great lesson on Walls, where we learned to define what our walls are, where they came from, why we have them and what we need to do to start to bring those walls down. Jen Quashnick and Holly Crawford gave another great lesson on Unveiling who we are and we learned about a healing that comes from God. We also got to hang out and make cards of encouragement in which we placed into a "Barnabas Box" for one another to pick up. I think we all learned a new skill or two about scrap booking — I know I did! Some of us went canoeing and hiking and some just relaxed and talked by the fire lit in the fireplace. We enjoyed great food together and after the days events, we all hung out, watched a movie and some even attempted Karaoke, which was entertaining for us all! Sunday morning brought a great breakfast, worshipful singing and our final lesson on being Refined and Refreshed by God. Truly, it was a deep joy to see so many women gather together to get to know each other in a deeper way, have crazy fun where we could be ourselves without being judged and to grow closer with God. Many women worked so hard on making this weekend one that brought great glory to God and we are very grateful all of your hearts to create such an amazing time for us all. I look forward to the next time we gather again as beautiful women of God.
